Years of studying how arts and music enhance cognition taught me something profound: creative engagement doesn't just change brain activity – it transforms lives. Watching research participants light up when discussing their passions, sharing their wisdom, and connecting with our studies made me realize we were witnessing something much bigger than data collection.

Why This Matters

My research showed me how powerfully arts engagement affects aging cognition, but more importantly, it revealed the untapped potential in every older adult I worked with.
